Report from our Executive Committee
| Happy April; we hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend; it certainly was a pretty day yesterday. We are so happy to report exciting, positive news (nice change of pace for our pandemic days). Our Executive Committee (to remind you…Michele, Evelyn, Stacy Barthelon, Laura Lipkin, Carol Crocitto, Charlotte Sciarrino and Pat Schwimer) met yesterday morning via zoom. It was a particularly productive as we threw out a couple new ideas which were very well received. We want to let you in on the news. First, we have been able to assemble a strong team to set up and lead a virtual Bingo . You will remember we sent out the article highlighting Grace Foundation’s Bingo and one of their organizers has very generously volunteered to help us set up as we are on the same “giving” page trying to work up funds for charity. In addition, we have Stacy Barthelon, Jaymie Rybak, Fran Iannone, and Caitlyn Spinelli all on board to form and fun the Bingo. We will keep you all posted when a date is chosen, and all the specifics are ironed out. Then we will depend on you all to round up friends and family to provide us a great big audience. The second new initiative is explained in general in the article attached here. The premise of the article is to improve living areas, common areas/spaces of organizations in our community. We have a laundry list of potential recipients of our makeovers. We have volunteers waiting in the wings to hear where and what kind of painting, artistic design is desired at each spot to can accommodate. We think this basic idea could provide positive change and improvement to many spaces in our community and we are anxious to jump start the idea. We first have to fine tune our “asks” and have a definitive plan in place. We’d really love to hear what you think of this basic idea and give us any extra information or ideas. Evelyn and Michele |
