Veterans Food Pantry: Last Wednesday we delivered groceries to 45 Veterans and on Thursday we had 60 veterans come in to shop for groceries and essentials. When we started this pantry one year ago we had 8 veterans signed up!!

So much happens behind the scenes to ensure that it runs smoothly. It takes almost 20 committee members to stock the pantry, make all the bags for the at home deliveries, deliver, and then be present for the pantry opening where they offer a continental breakfast, shop with the veterans, pack their groceries and help them to their cars. Most importantly they are there to provide an ear to veterans who often have something to share.

Last week we responded to a request from PS52, to help with shoes and clothing for 4 children.

The next birthday party at the Berry Homes will be hosted on May 16th where 11 children will be celebrated. Please contact us if you’d like to contribute.

Plans are in place for Monday, May 5 for the Comedy Performance at Mt. Loretto’s Friendship Club. We expect 85 seniors to be present. Mona Ghanem from Northfield Bank took it upon herself to fill 100 gift bags of hygiene products (toothbrushes, toothpaste, tissues, sanitizer and water bottles) to distribute to the seniors. Two additional events will follow later in the month.
