Weekly Update. June 5, 2025
 Last week we hosted our monthly Veterans Food Pantry. We delivered to 45 homebound Veterans and an additional 65 came in to shop our pantry. Shelves were stocked with non perishable items, toiletries and cleaning products. The open space was rearranged to accommodate tables filled with fruit and vegetables. The fridge and freezer held assorted cheese and frozen veggies. Starbucks joined us and brought along coffee, tea, cakes and pastries. They also gave away 1 pound bags of coffee and Starbucks branded drinkware. Mike Cusick and Olivia Frasca of the SIEDC were on hand to to sign up Veterans for the Veterans (VETS) Discount Program. The program offers special discounts to 200+ local businesses. All this couldn’t be done without the hardworking Veterans Committee. They were surprised this month with gifts from several of our veterans including a bouquet of gorgeous peonies, cookies and a bottle of wine.          We will be collecting swimsuits, beach towels and flip flops until the end of June.   |
