HAPPY SPRING!
We are inching toward blossoms and sunshine….hold on.

We have several little boosts for you today……

We heard from Alleida Mitchell from Christ Church who told us that they offer FREE music lessons (now on zoom). Our Parent Coordinators have all voiced desires to find a way to incorporate music back into the kids’ curricula/lives. At full tilt, Ms. Mitchell says they offer lessons on steel drums, ukulele, African drums and choir practice. Voice your approval and we will share contact information.

We were able to distribute all 30 cases of donated (by Zion Lutheran Church) peanut butter!
Our newsletter elicited so much interest and compliments AND our own Secret Santa (prolific donor) made a $300 contribution to Joe’s new food pantry and paid off the entirety of the Con Ed deficit for Lori Ficarra’s single mother and kids.

Everyone was very impressed with Jayne Cooper’s presentation on the ramifications of the COVID virus on mental health. Joe Cohen is suggesting (and we all think it’s vital) to create an initiative to help groups of people suffering terribly with exacerbated mental health dilemmas (adolescents, disabled, isolated).

Our thanks go to Gracelyn Santos for taking interest in our organization and putting a nice, long article on SI LIVE last week. Gracelyn is also hoping the article will appear in print (Staten Island Advance) within a few days.
